Is it normal for my toddler boy to love playing with Minnie Mouse and taking Minnie where ever he goes?

My toddler loves watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He used to love playing with Mickey Mouse, but when he saw Minnie Mouse in the store last weekend, he wanted Minnie and has been inseparable with Minnie since then.

  1. Yes, totally normal. He will probably give it up as fast as he picked it up.
  2. for whatever reason kids pick a favourite toy and just love it to death... mine was a stuffed dog which i called doggit and dragged around by a piece of string tied around his neck till he got decapitated. my daughter has a "special" teddy that was one of three that my aunt gave her... one is yellow, one is pink and one is purple and for some reason she loves the purple one. she won't go to bed without it and often walks around the house with it in her arms, stopping every so often to rub noses with it. she has some other favourite toys that get lugged around the house but the purple teddy takes the cake. i wouldn't worry too much about your boy loving minnie mouse... he probly doesn't even realise that shes a girl!!
  3. Very normal. My daughter at that age had an obsession with Peter Pan (she even wanted to be called "Peter" when she was 2) then later it was Pooh Bear. They outgrow it and move on.
  4. Minnie is new. She's also covered in pretty bright colors. Your child is too young to really care about the alleged gender of the dolls he plays with. It's pretty and cuddly. That's all he cares about. It's perfectly normal. Don't worry.
  5. Yes of course it is! Why wouldn't it be? Even if he was aware of the gender of Minnie it is still perfectly normal!
  6. aww thats so cute! almost every child i know had had something they love and take everywhere..my brother had blankie..my son has his spotty dog, a friend of ours daughter has a little toy pony...Its totally normal
  7. Yes, normal.
  8. Absolutely..... I bet he doesnt take it to school with him when hes 7 though :)
  9. of course
  10. yup. don't worry that it's minnie. boys are still boys! minnie is just a new character to have from the show
  11. Yes totally normal. My 4 year old brother went through the same thing. He loved barney and when he found out there was a baby bop he was obsessed with it.It soonly faded away and he found barney again and now starts to like real rough and tough boy stuff
  12. Yes its normal, nothing to worry about. My son was like that with a Elmo stuff animal. He at some point got sick of him and let him go. What ever you do, don't take it away from your child. This may be his comfort. This may be what makes him feel safe. Trust me, its ok, and he will out grow it when he's ready.
